Algebra I
Algebra I is a required class for freshmen. It is an EOI class, which means at the end of the school year we will have an End Of Intruction test that is state mandated. Oklahoma law requires that a student must pass the Algebra I EOI to graduate. If the student does not pass on the first attempt, the student will be asked to attend summer school for remmediation, and will retake the EOI at the end of summer school.
The following are the 3 main standards that are state required.
Standard 1: Number Sense and Algebraic Operations
Includes solving equations and formulas, simplifying and evaluating linear, absolute value, rational, and radical expressions, simplifying polymonials, and factoring.
Standard 2: Relations and Functions
Includes identifying functions, domain and range, linear equations and graphs, calculating slope, linear inequalities, and systems of equations.
Standard 3: Data Analysis, Probabliltiy, and Statistics
Includes translating data to tables, graphs, or symbols, making valid inferences based on data, solving problems using concepts such as probability and measures of central tendency, scatter plots of data and line of best fit.
